About the
This limited service motel features 28 guest rooms,
multi-purpose room (currently used as Continental Breakfast/Meeting Room), with adjoining kitchen, 1596 square foot
owners/managers quarters consisting of 3 bedrooms, 1 3/4 baths, large kitchen,
dining room, living room, large pantries and hall closets. There is a commercial laundry room,
recreation room with sauna and spa, and a large guest lobby with front desk and
lounge area.
The motel property consists of a three building
configuration. Each guest unit consists
of 14 rooms and is a one-story exterior corridor property, the office/lobby
complex is a two story building, the owners/managers quarters encompassing the

We are looking for someone who plans on making
a long term commitment to the position, who is, or will relocate to Westcliffe
and establish their household in the onsite manager’s quarters.

The Westcliffe Inn is a 28 ground-level unit motel in Westcliffe. We have owned the property since September of 1993. Individuals with small children, dogs or cats, or drug or alcohol problems are discouraged from applying for the position.
The position is salaried and you must live onsite in the managers residence which consists of 1596 square feet. It is an upstairs 3 bdrm, 1 and 3/4 bath living quarters, located above the office/lobby complex. (If stairs present a problem for you, then do not consider this position further). There is a large living room, dining area, large kitchen, 2 pantries, hall closets, bay windows, a 416 sq. ft. deck and exceptional views of the Sangre De Cristos. A wood-burning stove is located in the living room area and the master bedroom features a walk-in closet. Laundry hook-ups are available in the managers residence, although there is also a commercial laundry room in the office complex which may be personally utilized when motel laundry is completed.
Utilities for the managers residence, which include propane hot water heat, electric, water, sewer, basic cable television service and basic telephone service are part of the salary/rent package.
Telephone service is provided via a Norstar ICS digital telephone system, by Century Tel. There are 5 inbound lines, and digital and analog service in each unit and throughout the office complex, providing for both digital voice services as well as modem, fax and cordless service throughout the facility. An automated attendant and voice mail system round out the system proving inbound telephone service to guest rooms 24 hours a day, as well as voice messaging and notification to each unit. The Westcliffe Inn=s office /lobby and switchboard are open 365 days a year from 7:00 am - 10:00 pm daily. Managers are sometimes called upon during night hours to resolve problems or check-in late arrivals, for guests without reservations arriving after 10:00 pm. This is an on-call / on-site position. Office and switchboard hours must be maintained, a doorbell in the managers residence signals customer entry into the lobby.
Our telephones are our key to booking reservations and all incoming calls receive priority over other activities. The position will provide for front desk relief coverage for one 8 hour shift per week, typically a Monday or other off-peak day. During peak months, it is not possible for this set time off to be regularly scheduled on peak days, although some flexibility can be maintained if adequate help is available. Also, 1 + ½ shifts, (or a full and half day) floating vacation is accrued per month, (18 days per year). This allows you to take a scheduled vacation off premises, or used on a regularly scheduled basis as accrued hours allow. Holidays are not paid, or scheduled off, unless vacation time is used and then on a rotational basis with the owner, or a scheduled in advance. (i.e. Owner to have Thanksgiving off in 2008, Manager to have Christmas off in 2008)
The position is considered probationary for the first 90 days. It is an on-site/on-call position. A background and/or drug test may be a condition of employment.
